  {US-China Video Chat} Students from Connecticut and China Engage in Video Chats  

Last month, students from the Connecticut Innovation Academy used Skype to communicate with students in China.  The virtual interaction was described as "a wonderful cultural exchange" during which students from both countries shared stories about school, extracurricular activities, and culture. Yale pilots digital media integration with Sakai
Yale University is piloting a new program that brings integration between its open-source learning management system, Sakai, and its digital asset and digital rights management system, C-Labs from Cdigix. CEN content filtering sessions scheduled for May 19 and May 20, 2008
For those of you who currently use the CEN content filtering, please mark one of these two dates in your calendar. CEN will hold two sessions at Rensselaer to provide training on the new content filtering product (www.8e6.com ) we'll be migrating you to over the summer. Since this will most likely be the one and only time for us to meet "face to face" to answer questions and demonstrate its functionality, we're encouraging each district to try and make one of these two dates. More details to follow as the date gets closer.
 
CT middle school students collaborate virtually with China
Seventh and eighth grade students from Horace W. Porter School in Columbia, Connecticut and their Chinese sister school, Jinan Foreign Language School in Shandong Province, have spent this past year taking part in CATALYST-China™, a program that integrates scientific research and technology to explore real-world problems.
